What makes them click gorilla video
What fun. I think these short clips stimulate much more thought and discussion amongst folks just being introduced to new ideas. Great job! Loved it. Just interesting in video the people chosen. Interesting series, cant believe he missed though, lol. Going to bookmark and check back for updates. This is a brilliant post, really looking forward to the rest! I have seen the first video before, and I missed the bear too. This is very interesting.
Very observant, thought provoking, interesting. When it was pointed out what that was and I focused on it, the moon-walking bear was a unique addition to prove the point that was being made.
Very interesting! Ha this is so true! Great post, thanks. I am reading the book and as instructed, came here to see the video. However, as of , the vid is missing, instead of the embedded video a blank page shows. It is described in most introductory textbooks and is featured in more than a dozen science museums. It has been used by everyone from preachers and teachers to corporate trainers and terrorist hunters, not to mention characters on the TV show C. And it got us thinking that many other intuitive beliefs that we have about our own minds might be just as wrong.
We wrote The Invisible Gorilla to explore the limits of human intuition and what they mean for ourselves and our world.
So, in , I decided to make a sequel. This time viewers were expecting the gorilla to make an appearance. And it did. But the viewers were so focused on watching for the gorilla that they overlooked other unexpected events, such as the curtain in the background changing color.
How could they miss something right before their eyes? This form of invisibility depends not on the limits of the eye, but on the limits of the mind. We consciously see only a small subset of our visual world, and when our attention is focused on one thing, we fail to notice other, unexpected things around us—including those we might want to see.
Consider, for instance, a famous incident in which police were in hot pursuit of four suspects driving away from the scene of a shooting. After cornering the suspects, the first police officer on the scene, Michael Cox, chased one of them on foot.
